Aloha from Steven

Posted June 30, 2017

From the very first AgXposure days. Steven doing some actual physical labor helping to build berm for new lo’i patch in Punalu’u, in farm slippahs and all (not recommended)!

Today is my last day leading GoFarm Hawai’i and I wanted to post a personal message of Aloha to all the participants (past and current) and supporters of our program. Your efforts have made GoFarm Hawai’i one of the largest and most successful beginning farmer training program in the Nation and give me great pride in my participation in developing this program that is so important to Hawai’i’s sustainable future. These same factors make me very sad to be leaving, but I am heartened by the knowledge that great folks will be continuing (and growing) the impact of GoFarm Hawai’i.
“Farming is hard. It’s hot, dirty, and sweaty. In other words, farming is sexy!”
I will add to that:  Farming can be one of the best ways to sustain your community, malama ‘aina, and replenish your soul.
So take care, continue to support agriculture, and GoFarm Hawai’i!
