Makin a bunch of ferments with what was left in the fields was not enough today – this crew also nixtamalized flour corn they harvested, ground it and made some tamales with fresh salsa made from the morning’s harvest!  YUM!

Maui AgSchoolers get busy in the field!

AgSchool Cohort 2 at UH Maui College prep beds add amendments and compost before planting bush beans, sunflower, pole beans, cucumber, and basil. And … That is not snow!  They used shredded paper to mulch the new planting … keeping in the moisture on these hot days as seeds germinate is the key.
